Last week’s reading probably lit the flame of love for awesomeness within you, and you may be thinking to yourself, how will I ever survive until the next reading, as November 29th feels as far away as a distant planet covered in swamp gas? Have no fear! Statesboro’s The Write Place has enough awesome to stoke the literary fires for long to come.
The Write Place begins tomorrow, Thursday, November 1rst at 7:00 at the Emma Kelly Theatre, with a reading featuring Burning
Swamp co-founders Emma Bolden and Jared Yates Sexton, future Burning Swamp reader and GSU professor Laura Valeri, GSU’s own David Dudley, write and longleaf pine needle artist Stephanie Tames. and the amazing Janisse Ray.
On Friday, November 2, at 7:00 pm at GSU’s City Campus, you can swing buy and introduce the Swamp to your own awesomeness at the “Open Mic” Coffeehouse.
And there’s still more awesome to come — on Saturday, November 3, at 8:30 a.m. at the Statesboro Library, Janisse Ray will lead a Writer’s Workshop. At 10 am at the Statesboro Inn, the Burning Swamp’s own Sarah Domet will lead a Writer’s Workshop based on her book, 90 Days to Your Novel. At 11:45 am at the Statesboro Inn, Mary Ann Anderson will lead a Writer’s Workshop as well. The workshops are free, but they do require registration: call either 800-568-3301 or 912-489-1869 to join in!
And who knows? Maybe our mascot, Swampy, will put on his best suit of moss and make an appearance!
